I have always loved Halloween. When I lived in the city, I eagerly anticipated all of the little goblins, dinosaurs, and princesses arriving at my door for their treats on Halloween night.

Halloween is also a spectacularly fun time to throw a party. There are so many creative Halloween party ideas out there to choose from. Whether it’s scary or cute, you are sure to find an idea that will help you throw a spooktacular bash for kids or grown-ups!

Now that I live on the farm, we don’t get many kids to our house, with the exception of one wonderful family of 5 kiddos who have caught onto the fact that I’m bonkers over Halloween so their parents are gracious enough to bring them by the farm on their way into town to trick or treat.

Only having 5 kids who stop by with their parents for a short visit has allowed me to be a bit more creative. I typically put together treat bags full of candy, chocolate, chips, and a can of pop but this year I plan to let them create their own treat bags from a Halloween Candy Bar.

Once the children leave, my husband and I have started our own Halloween tradition where we cozy up in the living room and choose a scary movie to watch while we enjoy a bottle of wine and some snacks. When I say I love Halloween, I admit that I love the cuteness of Halloween and I’m definitely not into guts or gore. This also applies to my movie preferences. We aren’t typically Horror Film fans at all but we force ourselves to watch something spooky on Halloween.

If you follow me on Instagram you know that I am obsessed with charcuterie and snack boards. Not only are they a versatile snack they are beautiful and can add the perfect touch to your party. So this year, I have put together some Halloween inspired boards that are going to wow your guests at your Halloween bash or you will enjoy at home while you watch a scary movie.

Fall Harvest Charcuterie Board

Gather meats, cheeses, and crackers that mimick the beautiful colours of fall and start creating! This Fall Harvest Charcuterie was built with Gouda, Welsh Cheddar, and a soft Alpine Cheese. I recently hit the jackpot at Costco when I discovered the Kirkland Cheese Flight. It has 5 different kinds of cheese that are all beautiful and will offer a variety of cheese to make your charcuterie interesting. This board also has prosciutto and two different kinds of salami. Then I filled in the rest of the board with crackers, cheese sticks, dried apricots, trail mix, and nuts. Of course, no charcuterie board is complete without olives!

Spooky Cheese Board

Dark fruits of a variety of textures along with 3 or 4 different kinds of white cheese make this a spooktacular cheese board. If you like blue cheese, which we do not, an extra veiny block of blue cheese would be perfect for this board. I kept this simple by selecting dark fruit like blueberries, blackberries, and black olives along with 4 different kinds of cheese that were white in colour. I added a hint of blood-red with a raspberry preserve and then finished off the board with some crackers and nuts. Make your board even more festive by adding a Halloween decoration or two.

Trick or Treat Board

What is Halloween without candy? There is no trick to building this epic candy board though. Just head to the store, stock up on a large variety of Halloween candy and start building! Begin by filling small bowls with unwrapped candy like candy corn, Reese’s Pieces, jelly beans, jube jubes or even Halloween popcorn like I was lucky enough to find. Place the bowls on the board first and then just start filling in the board with the rest of your candy. I also added dark chips and cheese sticks to this board that sticks with the colour theme. Kids and grown-ups alike are going to flip out over this board!

Salty & Sweet Halloween Snack Board

Seriously guys, how AMAZING is this snack board? This board will be the center of attention and the only thing you’ll need to serve your guests. I chose a variety of salty and sweet treats and some fruit and veggies that follow the Halloween colour scheme. Green guacamole with one eyeball is also a fun, festive touch. Check out how I made this epic Halloween Snack board in my Youtube video below!

Guys, I hope you are as excited about these ghoulishly delicious Halloween snack boards as I am. You are seriously going to be the envy of all of your guests when you serve up one of these amazing boards at your spooky soiree this year. Bwaahahahahaha!

All of these snack boards look amazing! We live out in the country and don’t see anyone for Halloween, but my son just turned 3 and this is the first year he is excited about Halloween. I’ve been doing different things with him for it, and he loves it. I may just have to do something like this for him this year. Thanks for the great ideas!
