I’m not going to lie…it took me a long time to get on the Instant Pot bandwagon. But when I finally did, I couldn’t believe that I had waited so long to have this pressure cooker in my life!

At first, I was terrified of this little wonder, but now that I’ve learned how to use it properly, it isn’t scary at all! Now the thought of not owning an Instant Pot is terrifying!

Depending on the model you have (or will likely purchase after reading this post), the Instant Pot can replace many appliances in your kitchen because it’s a slow-cooker, rice and porridge cooker, yogurt maker, cake maker, steamer, sterilizer and, it can sauté! To be honest, I haven’t even begun to use my Instant Pot to its full potential.

But don’t let all of its capabilities scare you off. The Instant Pot can be used to make the simplest recipes that you likely have for dinner on a regular basis. I’ve rounded up 5 Instant Pot recipes that are in regular rotation in our meal plan.

Whole 30 Pulled Pork with BBQ Sauce

I think we make this recipe almost every week! It is so simple but incredibly flavourful and the homemade BBQ sauce is better than anything you can buy. We like to eat this pulled pork on a baked sweet potato with coleslaw on the side. It is definitely our top Instant Pot recipe and I’ve started making the BBQ sauce for other recipes as well.

Instant Pot Rotisserie Chicken

Gone are the days of running to the grocery store after work to grab a rotisserie chicken because now that I own an Instant Pot we can have a roast chicken in under 1 hour. Plus, on those days that you forget to take something out for supper, you can cook a frozen whole chicken. This recipe suggests using the sauté setting to brown the skin before pressure cooking. Another option is to broil it in the oven for a couple of minutes once it’s cooked.

Instant Pot Ribs

We are amazed at how good these ribs turn out in the Instant Pot! They are flavourful, fall-off-the-bone ribs that were ready in under 30 minutes. This is another recipe where you might want to throw the ribs under the broiler for a couple of minutes or we like to crisp them up on the grill once they come out of the Instant Pot. So good!

Instant Pot Beef Stew

I have been making our own Lazy Spoon Farms Slow Cooker Beef Stew for years but have tried it in the Instant Pot a couple of times now and it is just as delicious and takes a fraction of the time. I’ll be honest, having the house filled with the smell of stew cooking in the slow-cooker on a fall Sunday can never be replaced, but when you don’t have time for that, this Instant Pot recipe is the answer!

Instant Pot Balsamic Chicken

This is a tangy, delicious meal that can be whipped up in minutes and will have your family thinking you’ve been preparing supper for hours. We skip the kale in this recipe and simply make a salad (or roasted asparagus) on the side. This is a good one!

Why I Love My Instant Pot

There are a number of reasons why I love my Instant Pot.

  • It has replaced a couple of other small appliances in my kitchen making more room in the pantry.
  • It’s a life-saver for busy families who still want to eat delicious, healthy meals on work nights.
  • The clean up is super simple. I throw the pot liner right into the dishwasher.
  • I love that I can use the Instant Pot more than once during meal prep Sundays to prepare a couple of meals for the week.
  • The Instant Pot makes delicious soups!

I like making soups during meal prep Sundays that we can have for lunch throughout the week. The Instant Pot has made this super easy.

Potato Ham Soup

I make this soup after cooking a ham. It is so flavourful and hearty and incredibly easy to make. The Farmer LOVES this soup.

Perfect Whole 30 Tomato Soup

This soup is going to feed your stomach and your soul, trust me on this. It is so creamy and vibrant you will never go back to canned tomato soup again. I follow this recipe exactly except I use Muir Glen Organic Crushed Tomatoes (with or without Basil).

10 Minute Chicken Noodle Soup

Take the leftover chicken from the Instant Pot Rotisserie chicken above, and make this delicious chicken noodle soup! I replace the noodles with 1/4 cup of rice and it turns out just fine.
