There is nothing better than a juicy homemade burger on a summer day! This recipe is our “go to” hamburger patty recipe. We substitute bread crumbs with crushed BBQ chips which makes the recipe gluten-free but it also gives the burger an extra punch.
LazySpoon BBQ Hamburgers
Ingredients
2 lbs ground beef
2 eggs, lightly beaten
1 small onion, minced (if your onion isn’t finely chopped, this may cause hamburgers to fall apart)
3 garlic cloves, minced
1 cup BBQ chips
1/2 cup BBQ sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
Directions
Mix together all the above ingredients.
Form your burgers and place on a cookie sheet covered in parchment paper.
It’s best to grill your burgers cold so throw them in the fridge for a bit while your grill heats up. Or, make them a few hours ahead of time.
*Makes 8 burgers firmly hand pressed.
We flip our burgers 2 or 3 times on medium to high heat (400-450 on the Big Green Egg) and grill to 165F or until juice runs clear.
Serve on a fresh bun or lettuce with your favourite toppings!
So simple and so delicious!
Enjoy!
Hello from Victoria! Interesting recipe! I never would have thought to put chips in but I’ll give it a try! 😀
Let me know what you think! I use chips instead of breadcrumbs and the BBQ chips add more flavour to the hamburger. Thanks for leaving a comment! 🙂
