It’s Mother’s Day this weekend and you’re on a mission to find the perfect gift for the woman who gave you LIFE! How in the world do you say thank you enough to the woman who raised you, who loved you in times when you were likely impossible to like; who always believed in you; who was a mom when you needed a mom and a friend when you needed a friend?

I truly look up to my mom. When I think about her, I think about a beautiful woman with qualities I believe she has passed on to me: grit, strength, compassion. She taught me how to be a mom myself and how to raise a resilient, respectful, and kind young man. And she definitely taught me how to be a badass career woman!

I know, we can all say wonderful things about our moms. And while most moms would say ‘just a hug and a thank you’ is all they need on Mother’s Day, we are likely thinking we’d better show up on Sunday with a little something extra to celebrate her.

So, if you’re just now starting to think about the perfect gift for your mama, let me help you by providing you with 5 gift ideas that are sure to have mom feeling the love this Mother’s Day.

5 Great Gift Ideas for Mom

1. Jewelry

I ALWAYS think jewelry is a good idea. I don’t think it’s possible to have too much jewelry. There are a couple of pieces from merchants in my area that I’m loving right now and I think will earn you some serious points this Mother’s Day. The first is a Family Necklace from DBL Designs. These necklaces are created using pennies from each family member’s birth year. How CUTE and thoughtful is that? DBL also has some gorgeous Mom bracelets. I think one of these pieces would be a really thoughtful and beautiful gift idea. Another piece I’m in love with are the Shine On Crystal Rosegold Earrings by Rebekah Price that are available online but you can likely pick up at Marbella on Hill Avenue in Regina. These earrings are a show stopper! I get so many compliments when I wear mine and proceeds from the sale of these earrings go to a cause that is very near and dear to my heart, the Shine On Foundation.

2. Pens/Stationary

Is your mom a lady boss, someone who loves to journal, or still handwrites letters? If she is then a beautiful pen and some stationary or a journal are wonderful gift ideas. Have you seen the Empowerment Journal and Sparkle Pen Set from Hillberg and Berk? This is a beautiful and elegant gift idea. I have the Hillberg and Berk Sparkle Pen Set and I love them! They write beautifully and are so fancy. If you’re looking for unique and beautiful stationary in the Regina area, you must visit Paper Umbrella on 13th Avenue. There are so many beautiful gift ideas to consider at this charming little store.

3. Coffee/Tea Mug

When I say a coffee mug, I’m not talking about the #1 Mom mug from the card shop in the mall. There are some beautifully handcrafted coffee mugs you can pick up for mom’s morning coffee or evening tea. Personally, I love the pieces from Prairie Moon Handmade. Carla creates beautiful pottery and I’m loving her speckled clay right now. I dreamily scroll through her IG photos planning out my custom order. Another option, which is perfect for my working mom who finds time to vacation is the Corkcicle collection. The Corkcicle Tumbler is super versatile. You can transition from morning coffee that’s going to stay hot to an afternoon cocktail while on the beach or water when you’re at the office and it’s going to stay cold. There are so many styles and beautiful colours to choose from in the Corkcicle collection. Pair up your mom’s mug with a coffee shop gift card, a bag of ground coffee or some lovely tea. You can find Corkcicle products in Yorkton at The Plumb Tree or in Regina at Chapters Indigo.

4. Spa Treatment

Trust me on this one. I know sometimes we feel like a gift card is impersonal but when it’s for a heavenly spa treatment, it is always the perfect gift idea! Our moms deserve to be pampered and there’s no better way to say ‘sit back and relax’ like a soothing massage, facial, or pedicure. There are many wonderful spas in the Regina area to choose from but Damara Spa in the Hotel Saskatchewan is a tranquil dream. They offer a wide variety of heavenly treatments for mom to enjoy. She can finish off her day of bliss with a tea or martini at Circa Twenty Seven.

Side note, the Hotel Saskatchewan serves afternoon tea in the Victoria Tea Room every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. This would be a wonderfully elegant way to spend time with your mom this weekend.

5. A Plant

Flowers are pretty but plants can last forever! I mean, that’s what I hear anyway. It’s a miracle if I can keep a plant alive but I’m in love with succulents and cactus. If you haven’t checked out Fat Plant Farm in Regina you are missing out. They have the most adorable potted plants and let’s face it, life would “succ” without mom! I stole that punny joke from Fat Plant. And I think you’re in luck, it looks like their shop in Regina is open on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. If mom’s a gardener or likes to spend time in her yard, I would suggest a gift card from Dutch Growers. This greenhouse is a dream! Not only can mom find something perfect for her yard, but Dutch Growers also carries beautiful clothing, accessories, bath and body products and décor. I could spend hours wandering around in Dutch Growers. I love this place!

I hope this list provided some inspiration to you for the perfect Mother’s Day gift. This is not a sponsored blog post at all. I genuinely love all of the products and merchants listed in this post and I can guarantee that your mom will love them too. If you don’t live in the Regina area, no problem, I’m sure you will find beautiful, comparable gift ideas in your own town. If you’re not going to see your mom on Sunday, take my advice, call her. Do not text her. The best gift she’ll receive is hearing your voice.

Cheers to the women who carried us and raised us! Hugs to the women whose babies are no longer on earth. And prayers to those whose mamas are now in heaven.
